I remember reading something some years ago in a UK magazine – Good Housekeeping, I think – which said that washing clothes at 30 deg did not remove all the bacteria / dust mites. I do mine at 40.

Great practical and efficient advice in a bid to lower your carbon footprint across the house, just to add to point 8 there are now a few different eco products out there.

Just to make you aware of soluble eco cleaning sachets. All you need to do is simply added the sachets to water in a reusable trigger spray.

The product is therefore environmentally friendly because it is cutting down on waste as you’re recycling your trigger spray, and it’s safe for the environment.

Your tips 6 and 7 are really effective – if just more people would do them!

And be sure to look at the big picture. The new front-loading horizontal drum washing machines not only use less water, they then spin the clothes SO FAST that they come out almost dry!
